What's New Friday May 16th 2008

First of all i would love to welcome the 2 new Gals Millie J and Linda W. Welcome to our corner of the world. Feel free to chime in anytime. We post a thread everyday to tell everyone what is going on in our lives. The good, The bad and the Ugly it is 245 in Florida now and i cant sleep. i have a snoring husband who is tossing and turning in the bed, grabbing the covers and driving me nuts. i dont have another bed to go to so i am up drinking my hot tea. hopefully when he gets up to go and teach today i can sleep for a few hours so i can go to work at noon. i posted some new pictures in my profile if anyone is interested in looking from Mothers Day. What is everyone doing for the weekend. i know tomorrow i am off  and maybe going exploring. Lily is going to Dismey World with her other Grandma and Papa. has the price of gas thit 4.00 yet? Not here yet but close 3.85. Praying it goes down. i know i paid 4.05 in chicago last weekend. Wouldnt it be nice if we all got raises to compensate the rise in the economy????? good morning! tgif !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! carla--i am so sorry that you didn't get to sleep--i had one of those nights the night before- wasn't michael's fault tho-just couldn't sleep! um...sweetheart...where did you post the new pics??/they aren't on your profile???i looked to see????? at work we have a slight -well more than slight- downer-- our boss. warren, has a daughter who has cancer and has for two years. wednesday, we were asked (by one of the gals in the upstairs office) to pray for her- i somehow thought she was a teenager(like high school senior) (not that age makes any diff in this) and yesterday found out she is only 10.wow---that hit me square in the stomach and came back and rammed me in the throat--my own (grand) amber is almost 11...it brings it home. there are quite a few kids in the geographical area in which she lives who have cancer and there seems to be some correlation but i do not know more specifics..anyhow- it has certainly put a damper on the spirits in our office...warren had signs of tears in his eyes tho he didn't want us to see....he doesn't iknow taht we all know either. .i know we read connie's words of nic and it's heart wrenching...but this just brought it closer to my house...... btw connie can you repost -or pm-the addy to nic's caring bridge? i missed it before. we spent a lazy thursday once i got home with some groceries..i worked on my DAR app and it is almost polished up enuff to send it in...watched some tv and my eyelids were done by 830!had to put roxie in the kitchen to sleep cuz her plans were NOT the same as mine in bed!!!i swear that lil dog can make a ruckus when she wants to be aggitated...... oh carla, gas here was 3.95 no word on scheduling for michael's shoulder yet... hugs and prayers and hoping for a great friday for everyone!

HIJACK....... Margo my heart is breaking for that little girl. Oh how I know how her family feels.  It really doe**** home when you personally know a child with cancer. Such a devistating disease!! My prayers go out to that precious child and all her family and friends as well. You included.  Does she have a Caring Bridge Site??? i don't know if she has a site connie--as io said , we (in the basement office) aren't spose dto know of her cancer--i was only toild during interview that his daughter has some medical issues- cuz i was talking about michael's and my need for day off for surgery etc... i guess with me- the fact taht my amber is the same age is what hit me so hard--i know how precious my amber is to me-as your nic is to you--otherwise i cannot fathom the pain and emotions taht their family must be going thru... thx for his link!! hugs and prayers! oh--one of teh new ppl in my office is an experience works gal!

Where is everyone this morning??? I am just about to go over to the pool for my water walking.....it looks gloomy outside this morning and the temp. is in the low 40's. brrrr.

Tomorrow is our Michigan Week Kickoff Parade in downtown Sturgis....they are calling for rain early morning, but the parade doesn't start until noon, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for good weather. Tomorrow is also Regional Track Meet at Centreville where DS is head boys track coach....he will be very busy!

My piano students are all ready for their recital on Sunday. The one I have the most problem with practicing really surprised me yesterday when he came and had his entire piece memorized -- WOW! They will all do good, they are a great bunch of kids ( all boys and one girl).

Well better get my mumu on and a coat and head out. It's Friday everyone -- hurrah!

I have a crazy problem and dont understand it at all. I went to put on my jeans this morning and they were way too too tight, and the last time i had them on (last week) they were beginning to get pretty loose. well it scared me and i ran to the bathroom and weighted and i still weigh the same as i have for the past few months. but got out the tape measure and measured my tummy area and it is about an inch bigger than it was. Im not constipated but i do feel really stuffy . I just was having really loose stools for a couple of days yesterday and the day before.  This has me baffeled why would my stomach area be that much bigger, the rest of my measurements havent changed altho my ankles look puffy ...help anyone?  Our gas is 3.64 here in our corner of the world.

Carla, several stations are charging OVER $4.00 for gas up here. It seems to go up every hour. Tom and I walked the perimeter of the yard last night. It is interesting to see how the wild plants change each year. There is a hedgerow of apple trees which are in full bloom. As we neared the pond, frogs, toads and other critters made noises and splashed noisily.  That makes me do a jig thinking it is a snake. We found two gigantic ant hills. They are fascinating to watch as they scurry in and out of the hill. Tonight I am going to a school carnival with Mary and the grands. That will be a fun activity. Tomorrow is the annual plant sale at the local high school. I hope to find some nice flowers for my deck.  Every year I make up the pots for the cemetery.  Mom used to do that when she was alive. As she was no longer able, I took over the task. Tom and I put together the planters then drove her and Dad to watch us set the pots at specific graves. It makes me all weepy but I know she is watching and is pleased.  Annette

HIJACK.... Annette....I envy you the beautiful place you live. I can just imagine the pond and the ant hills and all. So serene and lovely. I also take over the cemetary flower pot routines that I did with my mom and dad. It was always so important to them. I know they are smiling down at me as I am doing this in their honor. Thank you Connie, it is nice living in the country. We are only 5 miles from town so it isn't a long drive.  Maybe our parents are all gathered together and telling tales about us as youngsters. Yes, they are certainly smiling that we care enough to continue the traditions. Annette
